It’s A Major Award (Fuzz)

The last pedal featured in our big giveaway, meet the limited release fuzz from Oneder Effects!

We have one more, informal and short pedal review to get through before the massive giveaway ends on January 17th. Last but certainly not least, let’s take a look at the Major Award fuzz from Oneder Effects.

The Major Award is a simple fuzz pedal, only one knob, and the circuitry is based off the fuzz sounds of their Heckboy and Fuzzhausen creations. Of course with any one knob fuzz pedal you’re giving up some control over EQ or gain parameters. But if we’re being honest, I almost never touch those knobs on fuzz pedals, I’m usually just adjusting the volume around it.

So if simple, ripping fuzz tones are what you wish, this is the pedal for you. Tone tweakers and EQ enthusiasts may want to look elsewhere, like the ultra flexible Coffee Shop Affogato.

But there are 3 things that are really great about the Major Award. First off, it just sounds great and is a ton of fun once you click it on. Simple as that, I press the switch, play a punk riff, and the day’s stress is gone.

Secondly, I believe we use our money as a form of voting in today’s society. When you support small businesses, regardless of politics, you improve the economy. This money isn’t going to some massive corporation if you go buy a Major Award or Red Ryder distortion, it’s going to a family. More importantly, it’s going to a musician and his family.

Lastly, I freaking love A Christmas Story. Enough said.

But in all seriousness, this is a rad pedal that you can win as a part of our big giveaway over on Instagram (see post below for entry details).

Go enter the giveaway, share with your friends, and consider supporting Nick at Oneder Effects, as well as his new Oneder Guitar Co. endeavor as well!
